It would be nice to be able to set the security settings
for a PDF so that a user would not be able to edit the
PDF without the edit password.

Very interesting feature. If anybody could help me I would try
    to implement this.

PDF Reference 1.5 explains the encryption features/format of
    the PDF open format.

    Excerpts from chapter 3.5 Encryption
Encryption-related information is stored in a documents
    encryption dictionary,
which is the value of the Encrypt entry in the documents
    trailer dictionary (see
Table 3.13 on page 73). The absence of this entry from the
    trailer dictionary
means that the document is not encrypted. The entries
    shown in Table 3.18 are
    common to all encryption dictionaries.

Hopes this helps... Unfortunately being the sole developer in
a (my) company I'm drowning in my work ...

So does the current version have the ability to change the
security settings for a PDF for the user to be able to edit?

Does it have the capability to encript the PDF file?

Where can I find the "PDF Reference 1.5" document?

    Thanks guys
