I'm pleased to announce the first beta release of Evolver. Evolver is a rapid simulation development tool for creating RePast simulations (http://repast.sourceforge.net). Using a drag-and-drop model, a simulation can be graphically composed out of various pieces (predefined models, agents, analysis components, etc.). Any desired behavior not included in the predefined components can be specified using NQPython (Not Quite Python), a Python-like language specifically designed to integrate well with RePast and much simpler than Java. The current beta release contains five Evolver components suitable for creating network simulations, as well as documentation, tutorials and five sample Evolver network models. See the download section of the RePast home page http://repast.sourceforge.net to download it. Once you've unarchived the distribution see the README in the evolver directory to get started. This is a beta, so I'm really interested in bug reports, and feature requests. Also if, in the course of using Evolver, you have any questions (i.e. how to do I do x) let me know.
