Hi, I have a list of images to order and to rename with 2 digits :

    2a.jpg
    003.jpg
    03.jpg
    3a.jpg
    3000.jpg
    001.jpg
    01.jpg
    1.jpg
    002.jpg
    02.jpg
    2.jpg

The order is not good : file 3000.jpg is not à the end of the file : it is due to Windows XP.

Now, when I load Rename-It!, the order of the names is different ! It is :
    03.jpg
    3a.jpg
    3000.jpg
    etc.

I have tried first to trim the zeros but I can't save the result : many files have the same name (02.jpg => 2.jpg, 002=> 2.jpg).

    Have you an idea ?

    Thanks a lot

Have you tried the enumeration function of the Search&Replace filter?

You may visit the official forum also on the beroux.com website.

      Thank you for your response.

Yes, I have tried the enumeration function of the search&replace filter. As I said, if your suppress the left zeros, you should get files with the same name (03 => 3; 3 => 3; 003 => 3) which is not allowed.

But the real problem is here :

On the official forum on the beroux website :
      http://forum.beroux.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=55#p125
      Fenzo said on 30 Jan 2006 :
"Wanted: When dragging files to Rename-It! 3.41 the files are not listed according to the alphabet. Most file names are but at the start you'll notice an alternation with a file downwards.
When renumbering the files with the %d option the alternation now creates a wrong numerical order for these two files. You can drag the wrong files to the right place in the list manually before renaming them but it would be better to sort the columns by simply clicking the column header. Auto-sort on drag-and-drop would also be handy."

So, the problem has not been resolved since janv. 2006.

      Where could I find a solution ?
