Ubuntu packages available in a Launchpad PPA

Remuco 0.8.2 released

We are happy to announce the release of Remuco 0.8.2.

This release adds support for VLC and TVtime. The Banshee adapter now supports seek control. Using the Rhythmbox adapter it is now possible to directly jump to an item somewhere... within Rhythmbox' media library. The client now has a quick reconnect dialog when a connection breaks. Finally some documentation on customizing the client has been added.... read more

Remuco 0.8.1 released

We are happy to announce the release of Remuco 0.8.1.

This release adds support for MPD. Additionally it adds full screen control (for video players), fixes some UI issues on clients and extends player adapter configurations by some more useful options (WiFi port, size and type of images sent to clients).

Remuco 0.8 coming end of March

Remuco 0.8 will be released at the end of March. New features include support for MPRIS players, an improved client UI and an easier installation procedure. Stay tuned! You can get the current development version from SVN trunk.

SourceForge Migration

SourceForge recently moved to Chicago while also doing some changes to its infrastructure (especially web content). For this reason the Remuco web site has been down for some time. Sorry for that .. I hope now everything works like before.

Remuco Rhythmbox 0.7.2 released

This release has a minor technical enhancement. The Remuco Rhythmbox plugin now communicates with the Remuco server asynchronously which reduces the risk that the plugin blocks the Rhythmbox UI while communicating with the server.

Remuco 0.6 released

Remuco is a system to remotely control music player software with bluetooth enabled mobile devices. Remuco is designed to support a wide range of music player. Remuco not only controls, it also displays player state information on the mobile devices.

The new release brings some shiny new features like playlist browsing, album art support and a more convenient client (remote interface).

Remuco 0.6 Preview

There is a working pre-release of the upcoming Remuco release 0.6. Currently only XMMS2 is supported. Amarok is the next one on my TODO list :).

Remuco Client 0.5.1 released

Remuco is a system to remotely control Linux music player software with bluetooth enabled mobile devices.

Remuco client 0.5.1 has just been released. This release brings some bug fixes and internal improvements. You most probably need this new release if the canvas variant only displayed a white screen (e.g. on Sony Ericsson M600i) and if the client crashed after running a long time (this was a memory problem which has been fixed now). ... read more

Remuco Client 0.5.0 released

The new Client version introduces a new user interface based on Canvas.

So the client can now be used via a mobile's joystick and numpad and the interface looks quite presentable now. This interface is themeable and 2 different themes are already included in the client.

However, since this new UI might look bad on some devices (with too small or too large screens) the client release package also contains a variant with the traditional UI which should fairly work on every mobile.... read more

Remuco website now hosted as a Wiki

The Remuco website is now hosted as a Wiki (a MediaWiki). That's easier to maintain and will hopefully encourage users of Remuco to contribute in documentation and screenshots and ... what ever you mind :) .

Remuco 0.4.0 Release

Remuco 0.4.0 has just been released.

Remuco is a system to remotely control Linux music player software with bluetooth enabled mobile devices.

Release 0.4.0 introduces a new concept to integrate music player. This concept makes it easier to extend Remuco to support more music player. See the section 'Development' on the project homepage.

With release 0.4.0 there is also a new music player supported by Remcuo: XMMS2.

Remuco SVN repository

The sourcecode of the Remuco project is now hosted in an SVN repository on sourceforge.

You can browse the source here: http://remuco.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/remuco/

However, the hosted code is not that used for the current release 0.3. It is the new code which will be the release 0.4 of the Remuco system.

Remuco 0.3.0 Release

Remuco 0.3.0 has just been released. Remuco is a bluetooh remote control system for music player. In addition to controlling music player with mobile devices, it displays handy information about the music player currently controlled (playlist, infos about the current song) on the mobile device. If the music player supports that, it is even possible to rate your songs remotely.

Remuco 0.2.1 release

Remuco is a bluetooh remote control system for music player. In addition to controlling, it displays handy information about the music player currently controlled (playlist, infos about the current song). If the music player supports that, it is even possible to rate your songs remotely.

Release 0.2.1 removes some minor bugs and simplifies the installation process.
To make installation even more easy, the download section now also contains debian packages for all components.

Initial Release

Finally there are first release packages for the components of the Remuco system. See the download section.

Some documentation is already contained within the packages, but more help, especially a kind of step-by-step manual for using the Remuco system will come soon on the project's homepage.

The released components are:

  • Remuco host system (for you computer)
  • Remuco client Sunday (for your mobile device)
  • Remuco player adapter XMMS (to control XMMS with the Remuco system)
