#55 Cannot cancel a connection attempt

Currently the program doesn't respond to any input during an ongoing connection attempt. There's no way to cancel it short of forcibly closing the program.

yes, I am seeing this too. For someone who might have typed the wrong credentials, or is getting some type of failure I would expect a "try 3x" type of error, but instead I see traffic where the client attempts repeatedly to connect. (infinitely?).
