Welcome everybody. I updated the project home page to include a developer page and also updated the source documentation to match the CVS snapshot. For those who have not submitted a developer bio, they are not required but I think they are a good way to get to know each other. I currently have most of you listed under "developer" as a project role, please let me know if you want to change roles. Please post any thoughts and ideas you may have on this list. I am not going to be making any specific project assignments at this time. The goal is to come up with a modular set of libraries (LGPL?) that can be used together or individually to create a variety of turn-based and real-time wargames. In addition to full game implementations, this also includes using it to experiment with different types of AI, rules systems, scripting languages, user interfaces, etc. I am currently separating the system into Game and Player objects. Unit placement and basic movement will probably be in the next release. I am also looking into client and server-side proxies for networked multi-player support. There is a list of ideas posted in the DocManager section of the SourceForge project page at http://sourceforge.net/docman/?group_id=4828. Feel free to add to the list or pick an item and start putting some thoughts together. - Randi Regimental Command Generic Armored Combat System http://regcom.sourceforge.net |
