When I attempt to boot the Vista SP1 DVD (to repair an installation) I see three additional icons on my rEFIt triple boot screen. Normally I see:
MacOS - hard drive
Linux - hard drive
Windows - hard drive
But after inserting the disc I see:
MacOS - hard drive
(blue orange and green triple boxes) - optical drive
Linux - hard drive
Windows - hard drive
Windows - optical drive
(grey four diamonds) - optical drive
Each of these three new partitions has a different Boot description...
(blue orange and green triple boxes) - optical drive
Boot EFI\BOOT\BOOT64.EFI
Windows - optical drive
Boot Windows from CD
(grey four diamonds) - optical drive
Boot Legacy OS from EFISECTOR
...Unfortunately I cannot boot into any of the new partitions.
From the first I get the message...
rEFIt - Booting OS
Starting BOOT64.EFI
Error: Unsupported while loading BOOT64.EFI
* hit any key to conitinue *
From the second and third I get...
1.
2.
Select CD-ROM Boot Type _
...where the last underscore flashes. Unfortunately no keystrokes on the macbook pro keyboard or an external USB keyboard appear to have any effect.
Any ideas?
Actually it appears that the last message comes up even if 'C' is held during boot to bypass rEFIt.
