2015 iMac 10.13.6, triple boot with Windows and Ubuntu. Installed without problems, deleted and reinstalled several times. Tried recent v14, downgraded to 11.5 based on the suggestion in the linked post, installed on internal drive or run from USB, same result: booting to black screen, getting past time out, and booting to Windows (from previous boot of Mac).
Cannot access Ubuntu. Holding alt still enables default Mac bootloader and entry to Mac OS.
Not clear whether you are saying the same issue exists in RefindPlus or not.
In any case, you have chosen to run a version of RefindPlus that is four (4) releases behind the current version and is a Pre-Release build of the outdated version and not a finalised version.
If the problem exists with RefindPlus and you want it looked into, please raise an issue on the project repo on GitHub.

Problem exists with regular Refind. Used the version of RefindPlus mentioned in the linked post to get a log file, as another user was asked for one. I can create a log file with the new version of RefindPlus if that is helpful?

I see. Not much point going further along that track if not an issue in RefindPlus.
The original log request via RefindPlus was possibly because rEFInd did not have logging capability at the time. As this has since been added, you might as well use that for rEFInd issues.

Oh I see. I will install the current version and create a log. Which log level should I use?
You might want to wait for the rEFInd developer to get back to you on that.
Alright, thank you for your help.
