Is there anyway of changing the order of the icons in the rEFInd menu? I have been experimenting with editing the refind.conf file, but so far without success.

I can't see any way to do this in the configuration file. I'm not sure it is even practical since the icon list isn't "fixed in place", it is automatically generated based on scanning what's currently in the system.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you could physically move the drives to move the icons because the icon order seems to be based on the SATA order. If I physically move drives from one SATA interface to another, the icons move in kind.

For example, in my Mac Pro, this seems to be the order:

    • Top optical bay
    • Bottom optical bay
    • Hard drive bay 1
    • Hard drive bay 2
    • Hard drive bay 3
    • Hard drive bay 4

So if I want to switch the icons for the drives in bay 1 and bay 2, I physically swap the drives and the icons follow suit.
