    Refind Boot Order Change

    Dick Parker - 2014-08-11

I would like to change the boot order on reFind so that my computer boots to Linux Mint Debian Edition first. Right now, it boots to Windows 8.1 first so in order to do this, I have to wait and then manually use my keyboard to move the selected OS to LMDE.
My computer is a HP Envy 700 - 216 with 12 Gigs of RAM and a 2 TiB HDD. It came with Windows 8.1 and HP's weird BIOS. I finally was able to install LMDE and prefer it to Windows. I have only a dual boot with Windows 8.1 and LMDE. And I have allotted 500 Gigs to Windows and the rest of the HDD to LMDE.

MY QUESTION: HOW CAN I CHANGE THE BOOT SELECTION ORDER ON REFIND??

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so please keep the instructions simple and specific.

    Thanks,
    Dick

Edit the refind.conf file: Uncomment and adjust the default_selection option. The comments in the file describe this, or you can refer to the rEFInd Web-based documentation.
