Why booting onto Linux assumes initrd’s first, then the kernel images themselves?

On Telegram a few people are having feedbacks on your project’s design, to probe initrd’s first for Linux, then the kernel images themselves
But Adé1ie, a brand newly RC Linux distro, is lacked of any initrd images, which can’t be booted at all thru rEFInd, though the most Linux distroes are ok to be booted
