First thank you for rEFInd; its a great utility that does boot mangement better than anything else that I have used. I like it so much that I have created a package for the Linux distrubution that I use, Salix OS which is a derivitive of Salckware. The package that I created uses a customized refind.conf that set the scanfor derective to scan for and create boot options for internal and external bios boot loaders. This works well on my uefi firmware computers with CMS mode endable. However another user installed the package on his computer with uefi boot only set. This resulted getting a message prior to the refind boot menue screen which said:
efind.conf's 'scanfor' line specifies scanning for one or more legacy (BIOS) boot options; however, this is not possible because your computer lacks the necessary Compatibility Support Module (CSM) support or that support is disabled in your firmware.
It then requires the user to press any key to move on to the refind boot menue screen. From there refind work normally.
Since the boot menue works with out problems, is the message and the need for user action really necessay? Does the user need to know that the system is not in CMS mode? Is there any reason why refind can't scan for both uefi and bios boot loaders, even on computers that don't have CMS mode enabled.
Again thanks for rEFInd, I use it on all my multiboot computers
