So, we just got one of those new shiny MacBook Pro's with the Retina Screen (MacBookPro10,2), only to discover that rEFInd doesn't work with it. :-(
What we have are various different thumbdrives with rEFInd configured so that we can boot various Linux distros on our Mac's by holding down the Option-Key while booting and running the OS off the flash drive. Thus far this has been working great on older Mac's but on this new one, the screen just locks up and never even makes it to the boot menu.
We have some experience with Linux internals, but would not consider ourselves experts. If you want us to try anything for debug purposes, just let me know.
Hope this helps.

I've tried remote-debugging a similar problem reported by somebody else, but with no luck in finding the cause. On that system, though, it did work when the rEFInd was set to use text mode (textonly uncommented in refind.conf).

works fine for me on my RMBP.
Whats your config file looking like?
Just the standard one that ships with rEFInd. Did you make some mods?
