Highlight the default/selected boot option before any keypress?

When rEFInd starts on my system, before I press any buttons, none of the items appears to be selected (no item has the 'selection_big' background). The default boot option (the most recently used) does boot when my timeout expires, and if I press an arrow key, the selection changes and is highlighted as expected. Is this the expected behavior? Can it be controlled via theme or configuration? (I tend not to remember and/or trust which is selected by default.)
+1 This would be a great fix. If I start the system after a while of not using it I have to press arrow keys so the boot shows me which one is highlighted before I hit enter to boot. Otherwise I may end up in the wrong OS.
