Hi all. I am using rEFInd on a 4th generation (HiDPI) Thinkpad X1 Carbon and the screen paints twice when I boot up. Also, the speed at which the screen is drawn is pretty slow.
Any ideas on what I can tweak?
Thanks!

I've seen screen-painting speeds vary from one machine to another, but the only machine that was really an issue was a pretty old (~2010?) Intel motherboard that's become unreliable, so I no longer use it.
If your system supports it, you might try playing with video settings, such as the chipset used for video output (if the machine has two or more). In some cases, enabling the CSM causes video output to be handled through the CSM, which is likely to be slower than in native UEFI mode (but it might conceivably be faster). You could also try playing with the resolution option in refind.conf. I can make no guarantees that any of these things will help.
