My current setup boots fine (esp partition with .11.4 loaded, linux mint 19 on ext4 partition).
In the past if I wanted to boot a copy of my filesystem os partition I just used fsarchiver to make a copy and place it a new partition. Then just needed to make a new uuid for that parition and edit fstab accordingly. On reboot refind finds this new kernel to boot and does so fine.
Now with latest mint they include timeshift for making os fs snapshots. So decided to try out restoring a snaphost to another partition. So made a ext4 partition and restored to that pointing again to esp parition. Timeshift even changes the uuid in fstab automatically! (I checked it).
When I reboot the new os partition kernel is found but when I choose it it gives me this error (attached). But if I choose the grub loader in refind menu (which is too on the esp parition) I get the grub menu which includes this parition and I can choose it and it boots. So this issue seems specific to refind/efi boot. The error message and if I edit the auto boot stanza show the correct uuid and ramdisk name and path so scratching my head here wondering "what" it can't find in that cryptic error message.
Any suggestions of what to try? What logs/diagnostics can I provide (kinda hard cause it won't boot). There's nothing wrong with either filesystem on esp or os partition, the original partition boots fine from refind, and copied parition boots via grub via refind no problem. Makes me wonder if refind auto boot stanza is still referencing the orginial partition despite what the error message/edit screen says.
Been using refind for years now.

As always Thx Rod for this project
