Menu selection without a keyboard (e.g. Surface)

Some devices, for example Microsoft Surface, does not have a keyboard.
It is impossible to select boot item on such devices.
Could you please consider adding a feature to select boot item with touch screen or volume buttons?
Or, is there any EFI driver that I can load to simulate a mouse through tapping the touch screen?
