Hi, I'm installing for the 3rd time Ubuntu and Kubuntu 13.04. I decided to place theyr bootloader in /dev/sda as it works better. Unfortunately when I call rEfind at startup I can see the icons of the previous and no more existing boot loaders. With rEfit I could run Gptsync and it cleared everything except what was there but i don't understand how to do this with rEfind.
    Any help?
    Thanks
    Simon

It's unclear to me from your description precisely what's creating the excess boot loader icons. A screen shot taken in text mode or a complete description of the text that appears when you highlight each icon would clarify the situation for me.

Your description does seem to imply that rEFIt and rEFInd are both initially detecting excess BIOS-mode boot loaders, though. It could be that you've got old unused partitions on the disk, which would be a bigger problem than just the excess boot entries, since this would imply that disk space is being wasted on unused OSes. If so, fixing your disk partitioning should also fix the problem you're seeing, and give you access to your full disk space.

Alternatively, you could try installing and running gptsync -- either rEFIt's version or the version included in the last few releases of rEFInd. You could also do much the same thing with gdisk.
