This should tell us what database refdbd tries to open and which username/password combo it uses. You should also have a look at the pgsql log (usually /var/log/pgsql) to see whether postmaster refuses the connection or whether refdbd can't find it. In that case you'll have to review the settings in refdbdrc or your command line options, especially the stuff that sets the database engine, the port, and the IP address of the database server. hope this helps Markus -- Markus Hoenicka mar...@ca...
