I have not yet tried to install RefDB (was thinking I'd wait for the 
next release, and the new machine I have coming, before tackling this), 
but there has to be a way to make installation easier than it is.

As Alex points out, Marc L. has made available easy-to-use Mac OS X 
installers for both MySQL and PostgreSQL 
(http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/welcome.html).  Could someone 
put together a companion package for RefDB?  That way, some who wanted 
to run RefDB on OS X would just need to download the two installers.

I don't really know how to do this myself, but maybe someone out there 
does?
