I just noticed I do not have a bib2ris application for refdb 8.3. Looking at the configure log I see that I didn't have the btparse libraries, nor could I find any reference to them in the unstable debian distribution (dselect -> select \btparse ...and similar). I obtained the libraries elsewhere, installing libbtparse.a in usr/local/lib and made a symlink in /usr/lib. I recompiled and reinstalled refdb and the complaint about missing btparse went away. (make clean, ./configure, make, make install). But I still don't have a bib2ris executable that I can find. Any suggestions? I dont have the docs to hand, but I dont recall any suggestions in them about getting the libs among the early references in the docs about the prerequisite tools. I have bibtool, and I notice that btparse is part of a btool package I found references to on the net, there is also java BTools, which is something else again! regards David Kilgour |
