Okay, so the only issue that remains is that you can't (sanely) search for patterns like M.ller. You need it e.g. if you don't know whether Müller was inserted into the DB as Muller or Müller. Admittetly, this use case is rare but it may be confusing sometimes. Given that RefDB isn't a resource hog so speed is not an issue, I still think though that PG should be prefered over MySQL in case you have the choice. Thank you for your clarifications!
