Hi everybody, I'm happy to announce the release and immediate availability of refbase-0.9.6. This is our first official release in a few years. We've maintained and supported it continuously, but some of these changes have been locked away in SVN a bit too long. 'Life intrudes'. The development team has seen degrees granted, relationship status changes, children, and career moves that have distracted us from this labor of love. But we appreciate your continues interest in and use of refbase and are happy with this. The included 'update.php' script can update refbase version 0.9 and above, including SVN versions. Full release notes are below. I have many users and developers I owe thanks for getting this out of the door (the AUTHORS file has many of these enumerated, but misses some great discussions on the lists and in the forums). But, this time, I'd like to single out Matthias Steffens (refbase founder and co-lead) for praise. His passion for the nitty gritty of citation management, good development practices, and demonstrated leadership has made him land a few professional software development jobs for companies that work in a similar space as refbase. Some of his silence is most likely due to contractual commitments to these companies, and he has big shoes to feel. That we continue to receive quality code contributions from others, and that we had a surprisingly easy time packaging and testing this release is really a testament to the fantastic job he did at creating this thing! Yours, Rick (on behalf of the refbase development team) refbase 0.9.6 available ======================= refbase is a web-based bibliographic manager for scientific literature, references and citations. A new release of the refbase package is available at: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/refbase/refbase-0.9.6.tar.gz?download This release offers significant bug fixes and all users are encourage to upgrade. Most changes preserve or slightly improve the interface and are to keep refbase current with modern standards.
