I've installed a copy of refbase and am attempting to grab a Pubmed record by passing a PMID.    Instead of getting back results on the PMID I pass, I get text showing 1 of xxxxx matches, ect.

    The command I'm using is:

    refbase 12122118

The text I receive back is:

    [3780] (pp. 9-42).
    [3786] (pp. 130-133).
    [3758] (pp. 125-187).
    [9455] .
    [9648] .
    -------------------------
    1-5 of 9648 records found
    refbase Beta Database
    http://beta.refbase.net/

What would I need to do to obtain the actual Pubmed record details?

You should use a query option.  Refbase doesn't have a PMID field.  It is often stored in notes, so something like this works

    ./refbase --notes=15382606
