I have a journal article from the
    Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry
    in the database.
When I do an bibtex export, the ampersand causes an LaTeX problem.
It must be escaped with a \ Can you please include it in your scripts?

      Hi Tobias,

It's correct that the ampersand must be escaped. I just tried it with this record:

      http://beta.refbase.net/show.php?record=4060

      and exported it to BibTeX:

      http://beta.refbase.net/show.php?record=4060&submit=Export&exportType=file&exportFormat=BibTeX

The ampersands in the BibTeX output get escaped correctly. So maybe this is an issue with your Bibutils version? Which version of Bibutils are you using? On which platform? Have you tried the most recent Bibutils version (4.1)?

The refbase installation at beta.refbase.net still uses a Bibutils version <3.42. Bibutils 3.42 and above introduced some changes to the handling of character support, and I haven't yet found time to fully test these newer versions.

      Matthias

      Hello Matthias,
      thanks for your quick answer.
      I used bibutils 3.42
The solution was to install the new version of the bibutils (4.1)
      Regards,
      Tobias
