Hi Red Griffin, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm running FG 2020.3.17 on Win 11. I'm using a Cessna Citacion X (this repo). For this test I just used NAV mode (no flight plan). I take off from TQPF runway 10 and follow the ATC instruction to stay on runway heading, climb to 6500 feet and contact Julianna APP at 118.700. Once there, i request approach and i get a vector and altitude. My intent is to land in TNCM but the instructions i get send me towards TQPF again. The last instruction from the ATC...
Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Can you please be more specific so I can investigate and possibly fix this bug? I have tried to replicate your flight from TQPF to TNCM and I did not have any issue. Can you please tell me whether you perform specific route operations? Can you also please tell me what FG version you are using and the aircraft used for this flight? Thank you.
I'm trying to get from TQPF to TNCM and the ATC keeps sending me in circles. How can I enable debug to see what is happening?
Hello Red Griffin please anwser I really like it and I want to try it out..
I checked it and its version 2020.3.11 so I don't know what the problem could be. I will try updating it anyways though. Thanks! :D
I checked it and its version 2020.3 so I don't know what the problem could be. I will try updating it anyways though. Thanks! :D

Hello there, what FlightGear version are you using? Red Griffin ATC requires FlightGear to be at least version 2018.2. I guess you simply need to upgrade FlightGear and this should fix the issue. Best regards.
I've got an issue using the addon. Basicaly, after I download and extract the .zip file, I click "select file", but it says "The folder 'C:Users/(my user)/Desktop/RedGriffinATC-2.3.0' doesn't appear to contain an addon module - add anyway? Added modules should contain at least both of the following files: addon-metadata.xml, addon-main.nas." If I click "Yes", It says "C̶:̶U̶s̶e̶r̶s̶/̶(̶m̶y̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶r̶)̶/̶D̶e̶s̶k̶t̶o̶p̶/̶R̶e̶d̶G̶r̶i̶f̶f̶i̶n̶A̶T̶C̶-̶2̶.̶3̶.̶0̶ ̶(̶d̶i̶s̶a̶b̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶d̶u̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶i̶n̶c̶o̶p̶a̶t̶i̶b̶l̶e̶...
Hello there, Font size for all canvas dialog is a planned feature for the next version. I understand Red Griffin ATC dialogs look quite small in a 4K screen. I am planning to release the new version soon although I usually work on it in my spare time. The new version 2.4 will introduce a lot of new features, including changing font size in canvas dialogs. Thank you for your support and feedback. In case you have more suggestions, bug reports and ideas, please feel free to share them. Enjoy Red Griffin...
Hello, Is there a way to modify font size in the ATC windows and dialogs? The default font size is too small for 4K display. Thanks in advance!

Great! I did not realize it was you one of those who replied in the forum :-) I am glad to know it is working good and I will certainly looking forward in reading your feedback as soon as you have the time. Thank you.
I did a quick test yesterday (see fgfs forums) and that went good. I will conduct further testing and respond back here in the individual tickets.
This is also fixed in version 2.0.0 beta 1. You can now specify your aircraft type in order to fine tune operational values, including cruise altitudes and "warning times"
Hello there! I released version 2.0.0 beta 1 which fixes this bug as well as implementing specific settings for turning these warnings on and off. In case you want to give it a try, you can download it from the file section. Thank you.
Hello there! I released version 2.0.0 beta 1 which fixes the "wind calm" issue. In case you want to give it a try, you can download it from the file section. Thank you.

ah and btw keep up the good work! The plugin is fun to use and works good already!
Maybe you can bind that behaviour to the aircrafts current speed - it is a difference if i fly a c172 with 100 knots or a jet. Also maybe implement a throttle that limits the rate of the messages, or turn them off after a numer of repetitons, so the valley problem will be solved this way (i will receive the (true!) warning some instances when entering the valley, but then it ceases to annoy me) But true, the frequency and com-off isse should be fixed too.
I have an idea: - make a default list for known aircraft, so your user-setting can be preset to "GA=TRUE" automatically for at least some of them (the list can grow), like c172 and c182, the pipers etc. - make your usersetting override this presets, so users can: 1. switch behaviour at their desire 2. the selection stays permanent I think the default should reflect current behaviour, unless the aircraft was marked "GA".
I am aware of this condition. Unfortunately FlightGear does not provide specific information about the plane and therefore I have no idea whether it is an airliner or a GA plane. This would actually be very useful in automatically determining some aspects and settings for Red Griffin ATC (including the altitude change warning). I am thinking about adding an option to the setting page where the user can provide this information, that is whether the ATC must follow airline or GA procedures. Thank you...
Hello there! Thank you for taking the time for testing and using my ATC addon. As for your comment, I guess the addon, when you are flying inside a valley, may become quite annoying as it would certainly and constantly detect the condition of flying towards terrain". However, it should stop talking in case you are turning radios off or switching to a different frequency. This certainly is a bug and will be fixed in the next release. On this regard, I may also think about addind a specific option...

Hey Red :), thank you for the reply, late or not, it's appreciated, I didn't think of trying to use the abort option as I had not initiated an ATC landing, however, the abort option would negate the need for an option to close the ATC program, I haven't activated the ATC for quite a few flights now and had no more interjections from the Lady :), It appears that when I had used ATC for taxi and takeoff and not for the app and landing that she got concerned, so we are all good :) Keep up the good work...
I was reading the phraseology manuals I used for the development of Red Griffin ATC and came up with the same conclusion as stated in the document you attached. I am changing the wind messages in this very moment. :-) Thank you for your support and help!
Got a source: https://www.wwfc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/VFR-Phraseology.pdf, p.26 displays an ATC calling "Helicopter Golf Juliett Uniform Kilo, there is a tower northwest of your location one hundred feet, wind calm, cleared for take off taxiway Charlie". So i think its safe to replace the phrase in this specific case. I think this may also affect other sentences giving information on wind.

Thank you! I will certainly add this option in the next release of Red Griffin ATC. Stay tuned! :-)
Hi there, I too am not a pilot, so I do not know whether in this specific case tower would say "wind calm", "no wind" or something like this. I will investigate more and I will change this accordingly. Thank you and enjoy Red Griffin ATC!
Cool, your ATC plugin is great fun! Just throw me a notice here once yopu have it in master dev branch, so i can test.
Hello there! Thank you for your feedback and appreciation for Red Griffin ATC. Your requests can certainly be an option for the settings dialog in order to "force" the addon to use just the selected radio instead of automatically determining the operable one. I will certainly add this option to the next release and having four possible values "Auto", "COM1", "COM2" and "COM3". Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. Please feel free to share your ideas and suggestions about Red Griffin ATC.
Hello there and thank you for your feedbadk and suggestions. Red Griffin ATC warns the pilot in case the aircraft is flying below 350ft AGL and, yes, this could be an option for the setting dialog. As for cancelling a request, in case the pilot requests an approach or ILS procedure, or has received landing permission, in the bottom of the dialog is shown an "abort" button which is used to cancel and abort all the above situations. Thank you for you appreciation and pardon me for replying too late...
