Hello, I am trying to sort data in opened fixed width file by data in one column but obvious options seems not to result in desired effect. All I need to have all data in ascending or descending order based on values in one column. I appreciate any directions how to do it.

Attached is screenshot of the file I am working on. I need all data sorted by TmpMapLot field.

Thank you,
Tim

There was a fix for sort problems in Java 8 introduced in RecordEditor version 0.96h:

If you are not using 96h, I suggest trying it. If this does not solve the problem, please let me know which RecordEditor Version / Java Version/ Operating system you are using !!!

Which version of the RecordEditor are you using. Select Help >>>> About to find out (if no version is listed it is pre 0.96c ??)

Which version java are you using -

    • open a terminal
    • type java -version

Apologies, I thought I had fixed that issue in version 0.96h; I have uploaded a
    new upgrade version

    with the fix in it.

This is an upgrade version which has replacement jar files for your existing version
