#17 Accessing files on a server
A few questions:
1) Can record-editor run on a server and be shared by multiple users?
2) Can the Window's record-editor access files on server directly? If yes, is there a profile containing Protocol/Host/Port/userid/password which is used as a prefix to directories or files on the server, like Beyond Compare's Profile?

1) Not out of box (yes with a lot of work and not really advised)
2) No, I have used File-Viewer to look at files on a server and run recordeditor (the file viewer will do the transfer).
The code should run on a server but it will require manual setup. The older generic version will run against most SQL-Databases. This process should work:
Note: the user-id password will need to be stored in a standard Text file - not great for security, although if you settup a userid that only has access to the RecordEditor DB's it should be ok
