Hello, I am helping a colleague who just installed Record Editor v99 on their Windows machine. They have Java 1.8.

When trying to run StartServer.bat, they are getting an error "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0"

For our other application we require JDK/JRE1.8.

Do I also require 1.5? If so, how do I make Record Editor happy and not mess up my %JAVA_HOME% for my primary application I am developing on?

The RecordEditor will work with java 8 and later (I doubt ir works with java 5 now).

This may be related to a bug in Launch4j: https://sourceforge.net/p/launch4j/bugs/161/
Can you confirm you have java 8 version > 99

I will create updates for the affected Launch4j programs.

In the mean time, you can still run the RecordEditor, it will be slow starting and you can only run one copy at a time.

Hi Bruce, the openjdk runtime version on this machine is 1.8.0_212-3-redhat-b04

I've asked my colleague to upload the bat file so that'll be posted shortly
