We are migrating NCR RM Cobol 85 (binary and indexed) data to a rdbms and i'm trying to use Record Editor (Cobol Editor) to read some data but i only get strange characters like 4Ã13À•ÃŒÂ along with the correct data. I have
tried with several layouts, numeric formats and file structures without luck.

Any help will be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply Bruce. I will send you
some Cobol files so you can make the changes.

      thanks again.

I have had no experience with RM Cobol but I will make changes to support RM Cobol.
Can you provide me with sample files and there Cobol Copy books ??

Also Indexed files are likely to be a problem, but there is probably a some utility to convert to a flat format.
