Cool program, but there is a minor enhancement I would love to see. I want to integrate the exported data into another program (eHome Digital Tools, ehomecreations.com) but they're using a sqlite database. this could be accomplished either through a direct export into their db or, more easily for you, running a process after the export of one of the XML files that adds the exported data to the sqlite db.
Any chance of seeing this happen?
Bill.

I think that would more be a task for eHome Digital Tools. Don't they import any of the standard recipe formats? RecipeFox exports the recipes to several recognized recipe formats (including two in XML).
I have no idea how their software works, what kind of formats they can import, and how their database looks, so it is a bit difficult for me to make software that communicates with their software.

The problem for me is not the exported format but rather the ease with which I can incorporate that data into another program on a regular basis. I wouldn't expect that you would create any kind of an export for such a small market piece of software. I thought it might be nice, though, to be able to tag a script at the end of an export in order to facilitate automatic processing after the fact.
What I think I'm going to end up doing is creating a simple, we based recipe manager. It would appear that when you grab a recipe using recipefox, it is just stored in a cache somewhere, not in a temp file or database? Nothing is permanent until you export?
Thanks again,
Bill

Without having tested it, I think that you can hack your way through :-) In principle you can change the Mastercook path (or Living Cookbook path) in the configurations and the program you give will be started at the export.
The problem is that if you use the GUI it will check if it is valid path and you will probably get an error. But if you go directly to about:config and search for recipefox you will also find the Mastercook path and can change it with no validation.
If you then choose to export to Mastercook, your program will be started.
Yes, the recipes are just stored in memory cache until exported.
