11kHz/8-bit mono .wav files not supported. Try uploading c:\windows\media\ringin.wav (11kHz, 88kbps, 8bit, mono), gives the error "File does not appear to be a supported sample rate (must be 44/22khz)"
48kHz .wav files not supported. Try uploading c:\windows\media\Windows Feed Discovered.wav (48kHz, 1536kbps, 16bit, stereo), gives the error
"File does not appear to be a supported sample rate (must be 44/22khz)"
ADPCM audio files not supported:
Choose File->Upload Sound-> and choose c:\windows\media\start.wav (22kHz,178kbps,4bit,stereo), gives the error
"File does not appear to be a PCM WAVE audio file."
Expected: The audio files will upload, perhaps converting to an appropriate internal format for use.
It is inappropriate to demand the client to author all the files in certain formats. E.g. 22kHz and 44kHz PCM wav files are supported, but 48kHz are not. Preferably would have a system where the most common formats are supported.
