Using Mac OS X 10.3.8 and downloading both files from multiple
sources including https://sourceforge.net/projects/readittome/
Safari 1.2 will automatically decompresses the files. The
uncompressed files have the following names:
Read_it_to_Me_2.0
Read_it_to_Me_2.0_proj
The resulting files don't have any extension. They are not the App,
image, or compressed files. Double clicking only causes the
system to ask what program to open the files with. Adding various
extensions like *.dmg or *.app to the end of the files doesn't fix
anything. AppleScript will not open the files. Downloading and
installed the Developer Tools X-Code 1.5 CD Image from
developer.apple.com and opening project file with X-Code tool has
no effect.
Safari does download the *.gz files and puts them in the trash after
decompression. Pulling the files out and uncompressing with Stuff-it
expander does work properly.
