ReadBarC version 1.0 is now released. This is the first program that can successfully read UPC barcodes using a Symbian OS v6.0 cameraphone without changing the optics. Simply point the viewfinder at the UPC barcode, center it in the red rectangle, and press capture, and the barcode will be read in a few seconds. Works best with barcodes like those found on supermarket items, for example cereal boxes.
