Hi everyone, As someone who has deeply loved reacTIVision, I thought I'd share a reacTIVision replacement that uses AprilTags: https://github.com/dantaeyoung/AprilTagVision AprilTags detection is robust, quicker, and the tags can be much smaller (about half the size). AprilTagVision sends messages with the same protocol (TUIO 1.1, UDP over port 3333), so it can be used as a drop-in replacement for reacTIVision. This is the first version; if you have any issues or suggestions or pull requests, please...

hi, FYI, with version 1.6 I managed to work with small fiducials. I'm working on mac OS 11 and I compiled reactivision 1.6 on X code (not sure how I succeed because I don't know anything of X code and C++ 😅). The only bug I couldn't fix is that reactivision opens showing only one quarter of the screen But you can easily go around it by putting "full screen mode" ON and OFF again

Well, I've installed UV4L and i've managed to create a /dev/video0 file but reacTIVision still found no camera. I've tried to launch reacTIVision on command line and the monitor displayed the following message : "no DC1394 cameras found 1 V4Linux2 devices found Unable to map buffer 0. Unable to mmap buffers. could not initialize camera render: opengl" However, reactivision still starts by display a "No camera found" message.

I didn't try with reactivision but maybe have a look at UV4L to get a proper /dev/video0 device. https://www.linux-projects.org/uv4l/ https://www.linux-projects.org/uv4l/ good luck On 13 Dec 2018, at 11:22, Eggermont Valentin valou-96@users.sourceforge.net wrote: Hello, As part of a project, I have to make a reactivision table with a PI camera for Raspberry. Hello, As part of a project, I have to make a reactivision table with a PI camera for Raspberry. However, although my camera is well recognized by my raspberry, reacTIVision starts by displaying the following message: "No camera found!" Here is the PI camera that I use: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0748KF97S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Do you have any idea how I can use this camera with reacTIVision? I installed Raspbian as the operating system.

Hi Brian, Are you able to share your patch?

Anyone know how to do this?

This works great for TRIGGERING sounds, although I'm trying to edit this patch so the sound/sample STOPS once the fiducial is removed from view of the camera. http://ooeevv.com/webwp/reactivision/

Hi, I can't get the max/msp TuioClient external to load in Max 8, I have tried dropping it in all possible file path locations, and when the TuioExternal folder is in documents/library, all the other tuio Max Patcher example files will load in patcher (so path is correct) apart from the Tuio Client external. Is there any reason why it wouldn't create in this newest version of Max? Any help much appreciated, Stu

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm making a shadow puppet installation and reactivision with Midi out is a lifesaver! I can control the figure's X, Y and rotation which is all that's being done in actual shadow puppet theater. I'd love to use TUIO, for the increased range, but I can't due to my implementation. Instead I'm kind of stuck with very granular X/Y controls, from 0-127 as per the midi standard. Right now here's what's being output into my midi-parsing app: DATA1: 4 (I'm using...

Will TUIO run in Processing 3.4? https://www.tuio.org/?processing states "The current version 1.1.5 has been optimized to work with Processing 2.0....." Figure I should ask before trying for 10 days and giving up if it will not. _P.S. Does anyone have an example of a better/simpler TUIO Client Application that includes example code and GPL (free to use) graphics for square fiducials? I have researched the "TUIO Client Reference Implementations" from: https://www.tuio.org/?software but have yet to...

Hey all! Super excited to start using reacTIVision here in the next few weeks for a college Senior Design Project in Engineering. I have done some independant research and think that a TUI running reacTIVision is the way to go for our project, but I need your help! I need to pitch this idea to my SD team, and to do that I need examples of this Software in action, and not just the Reactable. If any of you have completed projects using reacTIVision, I would love to see pictures/videos/descriptions...

If anyone else is struggling to make the RPi camera work with reacTIVision 1.6, this solved my issue.

  • Bálint Zsiga Bálint Zsiga modified a comment on discussion reacTIVision User Forum

Hi Prenic, You may have fixed the issue since then, but I succeded to build reacTIVision 1.6 with working camera window (with ELP USB camera) on RPi3 + Raspbian Stretch by installing the following packages form apt-get: libsdl2-dev, libdc1394-22-dev, libjpeg8-dev, libturbojpeg0-dev. The only issue I'm facing is that it doesn't recognise my pi camera. Did you have to do any extra to make that work? Thanks, Balint
