Sorry for the late reply, I'm in vacation with the family and can
hardly use the PC :)

I tried to update from SVN and rebuild the RPM but now I fail because
I need to update one patch (I still carry a couple of the to disable
completely the static build and linking) so I could not finish it.
I'll need to work on that a bit more before reporting results, however
the approach seems sane so I guess you can go on and release if you
wish
