when I try to install RD on my acount in school I get this:

./configure
rdesktop build configuration script

X Window System:
includes /usr/openwin/include
libraries /usr/openwin/lib

ERROR: could not find OpenSSL headers
(searched for include/openssl/rc4.h in: /usr/openssl
/usr/ssl /usr /usr/local/openssl /usr/local/ssl /usr/local)

make
make install

gcc -o xkeymap.o -c xkeymap.c
xkeymap.c: In function `xkeymap_read':
xkeymap.c:93: error: `KEYMAP_PATH' undeclared (first
use in this function)
xkeymap.c:93: error: (Each undeclared identifier is
reported only once
xkeymap.c:93: error: for each function it appears in.)
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `xkeymap.o'

I'm a total unix-noob but I'd like to be able to
connect to my home computer from my schoolacount.
What should I do?

i get a similar error while trying to make at school. Any
    chance you go to Purdue?

    Anyway, here it is:

    [me@msee190pc20 rdesktop-1.3.1]$ ./configure
    rdesktop build configuration script

    X Window System:
    includes /usr/X11R6/include
    libraries /usr/X11R6/lib

    OpenSSL:
    includes /usr/include
    libraries /usr/lib

Sound support enabled: Open Sound System

configure complete - now run make
    [me@msee190pc20 rdesktop-1.3.1]$ make
    gcc -DKEYMAP_PATH=\"/usr/local/share/rdesktop/keymaps/\"
    -Wall -O2 -I/usr/X11R6/include -DWITH_OPENSSL -DWITH_RDPSND
    -o xkeymap.o -c xkeymap.c
    xkeymap.c: In function `xkeymap_read':
xkeymap.c:84: error: `PATH_MAX' undeclared (first use in
    this function)
xkeymap.c:84: error: (Each undeclared identifier is
    reported only once
xkeymap.c:84: error: for each function it appears in.)
    xkeymap.c:84: warning: unused variable `path'
    xkeymap.c:84: warning: unused variable `inplace_path'
    make: *** [xkeymap.o] Error 1
    [me@msee190pc20 rdesktop-1.3.1]$

Any ideas on how to handle this?

    Thanks!

EDIT: ok i found a patch to handle non-admin installs, but I
couldn't even get the patch to run without error. Here it is:
