I'm very new to rdesktop. I just started using this seriously today. In
fact today is my second day using graphical linux KDE desktop.
I tested rdesktop last night with xp and it disconnects all the time.
I am currently have a small lan, primarily windows, win95 (486/8mb),
winxp(celeron), a win2k server (with terminal service) and a linux box.
I want to convert it to a linux network. I have heard of ltsp and will have
a friend install it for me sometime by end of this month, in which case i
will have only the win2k machine standing here and the two windows pc's as
My idea of using terminal software is to centralize the install/un-install
business of the applications.
Has anyone done anything like this?
My idea is for the users on the two nodes (maybe more will be added later),
they can either boot off the NIC or a floppy, connect to ltsp and if they
require to use windows, they can start a rdesktop session. So XP is out of
the question caz its single user at a time.
Also, i've been reading the mailing archive, and seems that sound and stuff
is only available on rdp 5.1. is there a way to upgrade the win2k server
from rdp4 to rdp 5.1?
