I suspect both of these problems are down to the remote server's
licensing -- you've probably previously connected using the same machine
name, been assigned a temporary three-month licence and that's now expired.
Try calling the server with "rdesktop -n any_name <servername>" and see
if you get any further.
Be aware though that this will take another temporary licence from the
server under the name you put after -n, and that licence itself will
expire again in three months. It's not really a legal way of doing
things to just keep changing to new temporary licences -- you should buy
a CAL for your Linux box and install it on the remote server.
