Can someone please offer advice on trade-offs between seamlessrdp and the 2= x.com application server software?=0A=0AI would like to use one of them (or= something else if you think it is better) to open windows XP=0Aapplication= s running on an XP server, on a linux client. I have not been able to sort = out the=0Atradeoffs. I want to open individual applications, rather than th= e full desktop. It would be nice to be able to toggle between full screen m= ode and a smaller window at will. =0A=0AIn particular I care about the fol= lowing:=0A1) do I need to patch the XP OS to allow multiple applications (e= .g. powerpoint, excel, and word) to be opened simultaneously? I anticipate = that only one linux user will be opening all the applications as one XP use= r. I understand that this would not be an issue if I ran the terminal serve= r version of the OS, but what about XP which is ostensibly a single user OS= ?=0A2) is the level of security equivalent between the two products?=0A3) i= s the usability of the two products equivalent in terms of performance, ins= tallation, and usability?=0A4) do they both require special purpose client = software on the linux box, or is rdesktop sufficient?=0A4) I have seen a bi= t of discussion regarding GPL violations for the 2x application server. Was= this sorted out?=0A=0AThanks=0A=0APhil=0A=0A=0A=0A=0A=0A =0A______________= ______________________________________________________________________=0ADo= you Yahoo!?=0AEveryone is raving about the all-new Yahoo!
