I want to use rdesktop to connect to the intranet at my work. What do I need to do on the ssh tunnel side? I read I need to do something with port 3389 but am not sure. I can tunnel http using something like this in my ssh config file: LocalForward 8080 host_on_intranet:80 but what do I need to do for 3389 if anything? When using windows I connect to a form where I type in the name of the server I wish to connect to which then gives me this url: http://intranet.mycompany.com/isys/tsweb/connect.asp?Server=servername&FS=1& rW=1024&rH=768& What would my ssh config look like and what commandline options would I use with rdesktop? Thanks! Nikko |

Thanks to MadHat and Keith for quick responses: LocalForward 3389 host_on_intranet:3389 or ssh -L3389:windowsserver:3389 us...@ss... --- Nikko Odiseos <nod...@in...> wrote: > I want to use rdesktop to connect to the intranet at > my work. Hi Nikko Try this oneliner: ssh -f -C -L 3389:[MS TS server]:3389 [ssh server] "sleep 10"; rdesktop localhost .. where [MS TS server] is the windows server and [ssh server] is the server on which the tunnelling is running. Add your favorite cmd line options to the rdesktop command. :-) Depending on which version (unpatched / patched / CVS) - you can use other ports for connection to multiple servers at the same time: ... 3389:[MS TS ---> 3390:[MS TS ... AND ... rdesktop -t 3390 localhost ... OR ... localhost:3390 ... hmm.... hope you understand this rubbish... cuz´ it does look a bit messy. ;-) Regards Søren Schimkat ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nikko Odiseos" <nod...@in...> To: <rde...@li...> Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 8:49 PM Subject: [rdesktop-users] ssh tunneling rdesktop? > I want to use rdesktop to connect to the intranet at my work.
