I am running windows 2003 server in TS mode.  The only way I have gotten the permanent licenses to stick is in Device Licensing.  I would like to switch to per user, but have had the same experience.

Subject: [SPAM] - [rdesktop-users] Re: TS CALs for connecting to Windows 2000 SP4 in 'Per Seat' Licensing Mode - Email found in subject

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering whether anyone has had the problem of connecting rdesktop clients (these are currently Redhat 9) to a windows 2000 terminal server in “per seat” licensing mode. The problem seems to be that the CALs are not being issued by the server but instead is read off the client. This works fine with windows 2000 and XP clients running RDP but in Linux I cannot figure out how to obtain/install CALs (whether TS or normal CALs) for rdesktop. Has anyone come across this issue before!?!?

Any help would be most appreciated,
