rdesktop looks at the X server and the -B option and decides whether it needs to implement its own backing store (preferring to use the X server's backing store because it's more efficient).

However, it is not correct for an application to rely solely on the backing store in the Xserver. All X11 applications MUST be able to redraw their windows because the Xserver is at liberty to discard/not use the backing store for what ever reason.

    The only safe option is to get "g_ownbackstore = True;" in xwin.c
