When trying to connect to Vista RC1 from Ubuntu with
rdesktop 1.5.0, the windows machine will crash when
trying to accept the communication and throw a blue
screen of death. The window rdesktop creates shows a
black screen.

Not a big issue now since Vista is not officially
released but could be a big security problem once Vista
is released.

Could you specify which type of BSOD occurs?
Sometimes rdesktop 1.5.0 causes Windows XP to show a BSOD with the BSOD message "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT". The backtrace shows the error occured in the terminal server driver (termdd.sys).
But most times rdesktop shows a black screen, drops connection during connection, compression and protocol errors.
And sometimes after login with rdesktop, windows also shows a black screen on the monitor and not the login screen.
