Hi everyone in the RCAP development team. First, I want to thank you all for RCAP it's a great project. I have so far implmented it in my RC plane, with great succes. I have one question though. I want to implement the system in an R/C Car. And reviewing the schematic of the system, I'm wondering if for an R/C car the Co-Pilot is needed. It helps controlling the tilt of the plane. But since there are no such variables in an R/C, is it possible to bypass the copilot. and not use it? Or do i have to add another component. Another question... regarding the trigger system. Is it possible to enable a trigger system, by programming into the PIC, some codelines, to compare the actual position to the desired triggering position. And when that possition is achieved activate, for eg: a servo??? Thanks for your help. Sincerely yours. Jose De La Rosa _________________________________________________________________ Got Game? Hi David, this sound good, I'm very interested for send telemetry by audio channel, I have been playing with this solution: http://www.rc-cam.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1691 but I can't had goodlock!, the thread probe with various solution, I have tested these, and my oscilloscope appear like forum, but I don't see my GPS signal. I tested this other link: http://www.klm-tech.com/technicothica/3105.html but the baud rate is 1200bps and is not valid for my gps baud rate 4800bps. if you can try with this or others, and you have good lock, please let us know it. Hello there I would greatly appreciate a small amount of your time to assist with my doctoral research at The University of Newcastle. The research concerns open source licensing and we're seeking developers working on Java projects. The research is supervised, ethics-approved, anonymous and results will be freely available. Participation will also provide a custom licensing report for your project. To learn more, please visit: http://licensing-research.newcastle.edu.au Thanks for reading this email, and I hope you'll consider participating. Best regards Ben Alex (My apologies for being off-topic; this list will not be emailed again) |

NEW UAV DEV board from sparkfun :-) http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=707 wanted you guys to see this ... looks like may be worth trying to work with seems to be just inside the low cost area... worth writing good code for? have fun ... keep up the good work ... :-) -pete NEED NOT READ ... A LITTLE about my history I have been wanting to do a guided aircraft project for fun and photography for a long time ... but gained some more interest since Maynard Hill's atlantic crossing a few years ago ... now in the last few weeks I have been able to make more time for research and stumbled across the R/C project page... I plan to biuld one of these boards ... it's actualy the same thing I was thinging I was going to try ... (using the GPS NMEA waypoint system) but you guys did all the work :-)... just a couple days ago spark fun posted this new dev board for a UAV system ... looks like it's been configured with all the "next logical steps" of a second version of the R/C pilot board.. |

Cool... I'm in Montreal. Basically what I need is a decent design to get the altitude to digital (almost any protocol) with a pretty decent resolution without the parts costing too much. Personally I have purchased some really good A/D converters, but I would not expect most people to shell out over $100 for one component. I've been playing with 2 different sensors. The Motorola that you can find in many projects with lots of documentations etc. It is an analog component and price is decent. I've also been playing with the Intersema one (digital) that is VERY cool but somewhat hard to find and more pricey. http://www.intersema.ch/site/technical/ms5536.php The idea was basically we would like to get an accuracy of about 1' (that would be optimum) with a range between 0 - 1000'. Let me know if you want to tackle the analog side. If you do, I will get back to work on the digital side of this and we could get it out pretty fast. Thanks for getting back with me. You are right, there seems to be nothing connected to AGWPE. I don't think that I have AGWPE configured correctly though. I am assuming that I don't really have to have TNC's configured and working since I have the programs running on the same PC. How should the ports in AGWPE be configured? Group, I am looking for some help in getting the ground station to work for me. I can get both the ground station and the teldata programs to run and they both say that they are connecting to 127.0.0.1:8000 with AGWPE running but when I start sending telemetry data nothing seems to get to the ground station. I don't know too much about ports and packets so if there is anyone willing to answer some questions it sure would be helpful. RCAP is not suitable for helicopters. You should look into the autopilot=20 project on source forge. It is geared towards helis but is much more complex and expensive. RCAP does work on fixed wing aircrafts (trainers). The main drawback=20 right now is there is no altitude hold. I would simply need a decent barometric pressure schematic to complete=20 the altitude hold. If you would like to work on that, that would be amazing. Let me know=20 and we can discuss some details. I don't have any experince with catapults besides lauching some gliders. But at one point I was looking into trying to get one built by sme members at my club but no one was really interested in it. Anyways, I did find a pretty cool catapult using comnpressed air. Basically like a potato gun in some ways. Here is the link: http://home1.gte.net/texhills/page13.html I had found quite a few others while searching in RCGroups. Mike A. Hmm that definitely sounds like a bug in my code then. Can you tell me how to replicate the problem? chris --- "Michael J. I double checked it with UI-View (an APRS app) and it works fine on it, but I don't get that same position on RCGS. That's why I created the Test map. I will make Test2 map tonight with proper longitude marks and give that a try. I'll let you know. > I just wanted to make sure we're talking about the > same issue.
