Gain decides how agressive you want RCAP to keep your boat on course. Very agressive will create constant rudder changes. A lesser value will make more it smoother. As to what is best, too many unknown factors to determin that (your servo setup, your rudder etc.) On a boat, I would not worryr as much, for a plane it is important to start small otherwise too much of a bank and the plane will loose too much altitude and might not recover. As for a figure 8... that's what the planes do as well when they reach the last waypoint etc. It take a decent amount of time running in one direction before courses can be calculated etc. by the GPS. You need to make your way points a far distance from each other to really be able to test out the RCAP. Cheers, Mike |
