#1 License Needs to be Specified

I've been working on some improvements to the Rockbox Database Manager code. However, the code distribution and this project site do not specify a license or a copyright holder (Mike Richards' name is in the README, so I assume it's Mike). Before I release my improvements back to the community, I need to know what the terms of the original code were. A few specific questions:
* Who owns the copyright?
* Under what terms is the code made available? Is it public domain?
* What relationship does this code have to Aren Olson's work (http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/pub/Main/TagcacheDBFormat/rbdb.py.txt and http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/pub/Main/TagcacheDBFormat/rblib.py.txt\) ? Is it a derivative work and therefore subject to the same terms?
