What, what?A chance for me to earn my god stripes back by zoning and writing quests? Excellent! I shall commence a solution to the need for zones,a newbie guide and quests - I'll write a newbie zone which explains the game and I'll write quests for it. I presume that the new career structure will be needing quests at levels 3 and 6 as before? bangle PS don't expect fast results - I have shite internet access atm,and it's writing the buggers up to send to you that's the problem. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I've handed control of everything on SF over to Flipper, so if you have any questions about the stuff there, just ask him. Have fun! Aidan |

Nice skills...but you have to keep in mind that if they are implimented, spells like invigorate become heal or drain. Travel brochures would be purchasable heal or mana wands, and a creative player could get a load of heal wands in their dragon's skull for very little effort. A really evil player might charm the bookstore owner and...well... :) Another potential for abuse would be to wear a lot of -max move eq so that 100% mv is a very low number...depending on how the skill is coded possibly even 0!. This could get quite nasty...maybe it should only look at a players base max stats? For spell casters: 'mana transfer' a skill that when used, sets your MV to zero, and increases your mana to 100% (provided your move was at 100% - proportional increase otherwise). If you fail your skill roll, you lose 10% of your move. For martial artist types: 'energy transfer' same as above except for HP instead of mana. What do you think? Ace |

I noticed quite a few people subscribed yesterday, after I had sent this mail, so I'm resending for their benefit. Aidan ---- Hi all, I'm about a third to half way done on KotM. Half of my problem to date has been fixing the char file saving routines, which were a little bit screwy from various changes done (nut not finished) by John before he left. I've created a tool that reads the careers.h file and allows me to view the list of R5 careers. Currently, the spread of careers is not very even across spheres: Warrior: 57 Acadamic: 30 Spiritualist: 45 Rogue: 57 There is some cross over between the spheres, but those are the number or careers that we have for each. As of yet, no skills have been assigned to any of the careers. If anyone has skill suggestions, I would gladly hear them, regardless of how well fleshed out they are.
