The dongle business it's new to me as I have never used dognle. So I have purchased second dongle yesterday only to find out that no Voice is supported either :(
while the same model sold somewhere else does support voice!
It is the:
Found modem : E3131 - T-Mobile UK
Model : Huawei E3131
Firmware : 22.157.39.00.105
Hardware ver. : CH2E303SM
Web UI version : 11.010.12.03.105
the firs one I purchased was:
Found modem : E173
Model : Huawei E173
Firmware : 21.017.09.00.314
Compile date / time : Jan 25 2011 21:42:11
Hardware ver. : CH1E173SM
Dashboard version : UTPS16.001.05.00.45_MAC15.001.08.01.45_LNX15.001.0 8.01.45
Voice feature : not supported in current firmware
Orange UK sells the same Huawei E3131 from T-Mobile for £9.99 + £10 Top-Up http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-broadband/payg-dongle
but you will get diverted to T-Mobile page and instead have to pay £14.99 + £15 Top-up
bit confusing
On this webiste https://www.dc-unlocker.com/supported_models_1/huawei_1
there are only 6 models listed as "voice function enable"
Huawei E1550
Huawei E1552
Huawei E156 / E156B / E156C / E156G
Huawei E160 / E160G / E160X (All versions and all providers)
Huawei E180
Huawei Vodafone K4505
none of them are sold in the UK at the moment :(
If you have a dongle working with RasPBX, what model it is and where did you get it?
Just be careful to get K3520 not K3520-z since that one is ZTE not Huawei. I had to upgrade firmware on them following instructions at http://wiki.e1550.mobi/ and on one of them I had to unlock voice by paying 4 Euros to Dc-Unlocker software. Tried before to unlock it using AT command but for some reason it wasn't working.
I have also bought E173 (t-mobile version) as you did but had to resell it as it wasn't compatible. Couldn't downgrade firmware to make it voice compatible.

I have seen the chan_dongle list
http://wiki.e1550.mobi/doku.php?id=requirements
but it is not up to date, as the E173 only works if it has "Qualcomm Chipset" :(
Is there a Dongle being sold by any of the UK operators that can be unlocked and have VOICE enabled?
