On my rasPBX installation the Asterisk phonebook.so module is shown as an excluded module. Does this mean that it is not possible to install it? If it is possible to install it how do I go about it?

The Asterisk Phonebook is a FreePBX module, you can install it from Module Admin in FreePBX.
